Default 24 Hours of Daytona - 2013 - Grand Am

Live stream from Rum Bum Audi r8 chasing #66 porsche 911 is pretty cool:

http://stream.speedtv.com/rolex24

Has the speed over the 911 on the banks ... not so much on in-field.

(edit) and there goes the Audi.

Assume on-boards will change.

Well ... wished the BMW M3s would have been up there with the R8s, Ferrari 458s and the 911s. Would have been more interesting. Would love to see Mercedes in the mix too.

Congrats to the Napleton Porsche Cayman GX class winner...although the only other finishers in GX were also Caymans. The SkyActiv-D Mazda 6s all retired early, likely due to insufficient development time.

Actually, the story is it was a failure of a 25 cent nut on a fuel line.

On all 3?

Regardless, I'd still chalk that up to lack of development time, at least according to what the commenters were saying during the race.

It must have been frustrating for Speedsource after years of running competitively in RX-8s to have to suffer through this non-competitive and unreliable experiment.

Looks like the non-nascar girls are so slow they can be passed on the outside......

Kudos to the Audi R8s in GT. They're going to be hard to beat during the Grand Am season.

I assume that the Grand Am Camaros and Mustangs just don't have the speed for Daytona. Or do they just blow through tires/brakes too fast? There was one Camaro, zero Mustangs.

More Mustangs in the GS class. They're quite prevalent there.
