Talking Calling all coneheads - Potomac Autox #2

PCA Potomac will be holding its 2nd Autox of the season on Sunday, May 20th, at Baysox Stadium. And this event is also Round 1 of the 2007 Potomac-Chesapeake Challenge Events (Chesapeake will be hosting Round 2 on Sunday, Sept 16th at Ripkin Stadium).

After we complete the official autox runs for all competitors, the fastest competitors from Potomac and Chesapeake Regions will face off against each other in elimination rounds until the fastest Potomac & Chesapeake drivers compete in the final pairing. The victor, in addition to significant bragging rights, will also receive a Discount Certificate from Radial Tire Company entitling them to purchase 2 TOYO tires, and get 2 FREE.

Last year Chesapeake won Round 1, and Potomac won Round 2. Who will be victorious this year?? Come on out to represent and support your Region!!

The event schedule will be as follows:
7:00 AM: Site opens
7:30-9:00 AM: Tech Inspection
7:45-9:00 AM: Registration
8:15-9:00 AM: Course Open for Walkthrough
9:00 AM: Registration & Tech Closed
9:00-9:15 AM: Mandatory Drivers Meeting
9:15-9:30 AM: Novice Drivers Meeting
9:30 AM: First car off

UPDATES as of 5/17/07:
Note to PCA Potomac Autocross School attendees:
If you plan to use your Discount Certificate from the Autocross School, please DO NOT register online using the PCA Potomac Registration Website. Instead, email me your registration form (available at www.pcapotomac.org) and bring your Discount Certificate to registration on the morning of the event; you can pay the balance with cash or check.

3-Heat Format planned for this weekend:
We will be trying a 3-Heat format at this event, instead of 2, to help lessen the time commitment for workers on the lot during a Heat. Registration will still take place at the normal time in the morning, and everyone must be registered before the beginning of Heat #1 in order to participate. The driving/working commitments will be as follows:
Drive in HEAT #1 - Work in HEAT #2
Drive in HEAT #2 - Work in HEAT #3
Drive in HEAT #3 - Work in HEAT #1
Please note that while registration will be on a first-come first-served basis as far as Heat/Number assignments, it will be necessary to maintain some balance between the 3 Heats, so that we have sufficient workers available. The Registrars onsite that morning will determine which Heat options are available to you as you register.

Additional information available in the Autocross Pages at www.pcapotomac.org.

..or you can also send an email to autocross@pcapotomac.org.

I dunno. Being a Potomac-Chesapeake Challenge, I wouldn't want anyone to sneak out there during the nite and try to pre-run the course.

If I'm suitably persuaded, I may post something later next week.....
Of course, cash mailed to my home may get it to you sooner .
