Alan - I've got a Warn 3700 with Winch wire harness. Allows the winch to run off of truck power vs having to keep a deep cycle battery charged and on the trailer. Winch is about $300 and plenty of juice to pull my RS onto trailer. Wiring harness is about $150 and takes about 3hrs to install. I suggest getting a 30ft remote or the new wireless one that is out. The 12ft one that comes with it is too short for loading a car.

Great Information -- Thank you all!!

provided lots of things to think about and some of the things I had experience with but forgot -- number of layers on the takeup causing binding; length of remote cable; price points. Excellent info!

That's it? Why don't you argue with each of the posters for 10 pages?

While the Pirate Wench is popular especially around Halloween

Consider the Beer Wench

But as in all things, YMMV so you may prefer the Swiss wench.

Sample them all to make a well informed decision.
