Default service tip: lotion pump to empty your brake reservoir

unable to find the turkey baster the other day when trying to flush the brake lines, an idea came to me

i had just used up a container of hand lotion

i removed the pump top, cleaned it with lots of water, running lots through the pump

then i used it to pump out the old brake fluid

it might take a little longer, but it sure is less messy and you end up getting more fluid out of the tank

an improvement might be a lightly larger capacity per pump, with a tube on the end to direct it into a bottle

just thought i would pass this tip along

Great idea. You can connect the pump to the tube on your catch bottle. Use the pump to start a siphon and gravity does the rest.

This could be the start of a "Hint's From Heloise" thread

Love it! I've found A 60cc syringe with a 16 or 18g needle works well too.
