So i just got this set of Turbo Twists really cheap and the only problem is that they are chrome. They have some curb rash anyway so I wanted to refinish them in like a Gunmetal powdercoat. What is the best way to strip off the chrome which is not peeling at this point....

I don't know much about DIY chrome removal, but if you decide to have it done professionally, call American Stripping Company in Manassas. Several here have used them, including me. I got a set of wheels for free which had been painted several times and previous owners had unsuccessfully tried to remove the paint, leaving them pretty awful looking (even for a 944). I think I paid around $60 per wheel to have them taken back to bare metal, which was worth it to me. Very helpful staff, and less than 24 hour turn around.
They do powdercoating as well, but I did not have that done to my wheels, so I can't say much about it. http://www.ascoweb.com/

From what I understand chrome is a real PITA to remove. I'd go the pro route.

My only concern would be integrity of the exhisting chrome. If there is already flaking and other damage, I'd hate to top-coat and see that start peeling too.
