Default Moving

After having moved every 2-3 years (military brat) for most of my life, I haven't moved in 11 years and am facing a move. Any suggestions on good local movers? Any other (on topic) suggestions appreciated.

I think most moving companies charge by the weight of household goods, so you might want to have a house cleaning and get rid of some stuff. Also if you are moving to a different state and are going to have to store stuff while you look for a house, make sure the moving company can store stuff. Own our last move the moving company they sent couldn't store our stuff and it had to be stored elsewhere. Luckily the move wasn't own our dime as the storage costs were more than the moving costs. I'll help with the clean up part, just forward all your unwanted Porsche stuff to me.

Depending on how far the local movers can often save you $$$. Dibs on your tools

x2... I used them when I moved 6 miles 9 years ago.

Get quotes from 3 different outfits before making a final choice, however.

Make sure you get breakage insurance from the moving company as your Home policy doesn't cover breakage during the move.
