Now that this thread is derailed, I've got to ask. What exactly are the differences between cross-overs and minivans? Most cross-overs seem to be the same thing as a minivan with a longer hood. Those that aren't just seem to be odd looking wagons.

I bought a new 2018 GMC SUV recently (October) from a Buick-GMC dealer and they seemed really hungry for business. They had over a dozen 2017 models of the same vehicle (and trim) on the lot but were still willing to discount a lot off of a brand new 2018. (I went with the 2018 because they have a new 10 speed automatic transmission versus the previous 8 speed).

I only say this because I would bet that she should be able to get a pretty good deal on a Buick as well, especially as we head into the winter months.

Minivan = USEFUL conveyance for people, cargo, animals etc but NO style points.

Crossover = less useful conveyance for people, cargo, animals etc but is FULL of that "rugged lifestyle" so many love to project.


As to the OP - by new do we mean a "new" 2017 leftover or a the "all new" 2018 with 10spd transmission and redesigned vehicle?

Surely you doubters have seen some of the new Buick commercials. Apparently, at some point, Buicks became hip with 20- and 30-something women. I saw it on TV, so it must be true (and some women apparently believe the commercials )

so my sister is decidedly uncool, unhip, un-urban, un-informed, and unaware when it comes to cars AND she is very unteachable as she knows everything she needs to know (just ask her). I am just looking to facilitate - not educate

Find the car and level of finish. Call around to dealers and see what is in stock that matches Wait until after X mass and just before years end. Go in with money/ financing ready. Drill down on a car you want and walk away at least once

End of year is the hookup more so for a brand that is plentiful. Buick does not limit production. GM rams cars up dealers asses then sets high goals
