Interesting. I picked up a very similar HF scope on special at a silly price around $50.
Its been handy, but had the chance to compare it side by side with Kurt's Rigid See Snake recently. No contest.
- The HF optical head is double the diameter, and too wide to fit down a spark plug hole
- The HF lens gives a far narrower view
- The HF image is soft and a bit blurred vs dead sharp SeeSnake image.

The See Snake is around $200, but I'm thinking of replacing the HF model after seeing the Rigid in action.

Similar to Tony's remark, what struck me was the 16mm diameter of the camera head. Too big for much of what I'd need it for (for car and home stuff).

For reference (at at $20K/system), a colonoscope is 10-11 mm, upper endoscope about 9.1 mm, and a bronchoscope 3-6 mm in size. All of these are video - the quality of the 4 mm bronchoscope images is amazing, and keep in mind that that 3 mm (actually only 2.8 mm) also has light fibers to bring light in from the processor, controls (just up-down on the tiny units), and an instrument channel. http://www.olympusamerica.com/msg_se...b_bfxp160f.pdf

Personally, I was just explaining where the non-spook hardware technology is currently. A bit more expensive and a bit more delicate than you'd want to use on your car...
