Lightbulb mounting a tie rack

so i've been 'racking' my brain for a while on the best way to mount this thing. yes, it's cheesy and looks like it'll break in a week, but it also saves a ton of space and i haven't seen a better solution.

my frieds alerted me that there's something that's perfect for my needs....

a drill and some anchors are all that's needed

mmmm.... there's a joke in there somewhere...

voila!

it's not quite like jazzbass' project but then there's nothing quite like a lunchtime project either

I have two of these. They work really well. They are made for the Elfa closet stuff but I think they would work with any 16" deep ventilated shelf.

}{ are any of the 4 screws into a stud? If not and you are hanging your tie or handbag storage gadget on 4 plastic plugs into drywall it will come loose and fall out after some time. Plastic plugs, contrary to common use were originally not for drywall, they were/are for masonry but so many people used them on drywall some sellers label them for drywall. They have little holding power and the drywall will crumble around them and they get loose.
There are cool little plastic or metal screw looking things that screw into the drywall and then you run a metal screw into it. I think they call them wall augers. They hold real well when installed right. I have a bunch of them and can bring you 4 this weekend if none of the existing screws are into a stud. They can go right into the holes you have for the plastic plugs.

BTW I can't believe that I am posting on this thread. It's a frigging tie rack....I too thought it was about a tire rack.

EZ Anchors....I use them all the time and they work great. Home Depot and others carry (buy the bulk package ).

While not my favorite thread of the week it sure beats the typical 'Show me your Carbon Fiber xxx' on rennlist or pelican.
