POWER COATING

Hello folks:
I'm new to this board, so take it easy guy :) ( thank to VOVE ) . Is any shop does powder coating ( Valve cover, fan belt,...) while the engine is being rebuilded. Any recommendations. Thanks
CH

CH, Welcome to the board!
Give American Stripping Co. a call. Quite a few of us here on the board have used them with great results. They are located in Manassas. Do a search on powdercoating. I believe there are quite a few threads with plenty of info. Also check the gallery under "engine drops" and you should find some pics.

Though I've never seen a powdercoated fan belt, I'm sure it would look tight when finished.

Thanks guys, I'll send PM Jamie sometimes this week. Hopefully, he can help me out with this

If so you will have to pay shipping! He moved to Texas.

Thanks Kurt, then i have to go to ASCO and let's see how long it take for them to do it ?

I can still coat the fan and other parts but yes, you will have to pay shipping. I just got a load of stuff from NC for another friend for PC services. I know that ASC is local. I could not get out there during operating hours when I lived in VA. this prompted me to buy the stuff and DIY in best Dorki tradition.

HMM Kurt has a PC gun. Dave Riley has my old oven. You should talk to them...

ASCO's typical turn around time is ten working days (but they can do it faster if you REALLY need it).

CH,
Here is another thread on PP that also talks about powdercoating:

Welcome CH,
I had my 964 valve covers and engine tin P/C two months ago and their turn around time was 10 business days, faster if you choose a popular color. You should ask them about P/C in bulk. I believe they told me that is more economical if I have a box full of items. I am also thinking about P/C my engine tins and suspension parts while the engine is out. May be we can combine to get the "bulk" rate?. Andy
