I have heard that is a major no no to powder coat wheels because it will hide cracks, which obviously would be a major problem. I had thought about it myself . . . TD in DC |
I'm not sure about whether it's the *right* or *correct* thing to do w/ wheels. I just think it will clean them up and have a durable, easy to clean finish. Some wheels seem to come powdercoated from the factory, sometimes straight from manufacturer (Fikse, Kinesis) and I'm not sure they would offer such a service/finish if it was detrimental.
Steve, Ask them for me when you're there. Yes, I am planning on doing that to a set of Fuchs, they are 6's and I don't really know whether it ruins them. If that's not gonna get done, I'll scuff 'em up myself and put a can of black Krylon on them anyway. |
FYI, you can get powdercoated HRE's, BBS, and as Dave said Fikse, Kinesis wheels.

I personally don't know much about this issue. I am just passing on what I heard. |

it's decided then, I'll be playing w/ krylon.... cheaper too but it does shift all the cleaning/scrubbing work onto my shoulders :?
