Yeah, from what I've heard having a spare engine is a good idea for Boxster owners.

Safety equipment is definitely a good investment. As a charter member of the T-9 club, when I bounced off the dirt bank on the right side after the turn, harnesses, seats and roll bar saved me from any injury. The car was totalled but I didn't even have a bruise. Good luck with the car.

Thanks. I hit the dirt bank on the left side, down the slope. I had a couple of bruises but nothing major at all. The car looks like it might be totaled, though.

Yeah, you wouldn't have wanted to buy a car with a tweaked tub. That would have been just plain silly!

But think of the money you will save building your own race car from a cheap tub!

Cayman is totaled. Insurance company came through with no problems, although I'm afraid of the rates they'll be charging me next season.

Looking actively for a 97-99 Boxster or maybe even a 996...

Kudos to you about getting track insurance.
Hope to see you soon out there!

So what was the cause? Early turn in from 8, fail to recognize, and push wide off track at exit of 9? Or did the dip unsettle the car and make it push more than expected?

Sorry to read of the wreck.
