My first session was wet and I really enjoyed it. My instructor and I went over my goals, improving my lines into a few corners, and talking through his concerns with my limited experience and these conditions.

I think both of us felt pretty good when we finished. I learned more, and explored my current limit of grip responsibly.

The warm weather hasn't rolled in as quickly as promised, so it is still wet and rather cool. VIR opened up the area above the dining portico - dry and pleasantly warm.

BMan, with his wisdom and knowledge, figured out that our tire pressure gauge was reading ~8 pounds too high. So, we went out with the tires at 13-14, rather than 20-21. We're thinking maybe the liquid inside froze from being in the barn over the winter? I do recall winning a tire gauge at an instructor meeting raffle once. I hope someone isn't trying to sabotage us!

Put new tires on (actually another old set) and Bman and the Mrs. had a blast on the track today. Perfect weather, great sessions. The car is running FANTASTICALLY.

Took me a few sessions to figure out some of the changes, but I'm getting the hang of it. Seats changed, steering wheel changed, pedals changed, brakes changed. Just a few new things to get used to in the cockpit.

Thanks to all of the Zone 2 volunteers. I happily took the weekend off volunteering - just riding once with Fumes in white, when B-man's dance card got full. Blast being in the passenger seat with him.

Missed Karting.

Fantastic weekend. B-Man and I had the most ethereal afternoon in the rain on Saturday...probably the quietest I have ever experienced in a car on track - very nice. Suprise Sunday morning tap on the shoulder from Tuffy for my white check out ride - no time to think about it just jumped in the car and went. I didnt kill him and that was clearly good enough for the promotion....Thanks B-Man

Also - so many thanks for all the great birthday wishes - couldnt think of a better way to spend the weekend than on track with the Potomac Crew.

Congratulations Michael!

Congrats Michael!

And I will excuse non-rain driving....if slicks is all you brought.
Although a cheap set of rims with some treaded tires would be better. ;)

Thanks Tony -
you should ask Otto about how much fun road tires were in the wet on Saturday....he was blowing past people on R888 like they were nailed to the ground....myself included.

Totally agree. I had the benefit of bringing my Golf R last weekend and was chomping at the bit for some rain. Mother nature provided. What a blast. Got in 5 rain runs on Saturday. I was pleasantly surprised how many drivers when out in the rain in all run groups. I'm constantly amazed how evenly balanced the Golf platform is. Here's some rain highlights.

Also, DID YOU SAY SOMETHING? I ROAD WITH CHUCK ON SUNDAY AND STILL AM HEARING HIS ENGINE WAIL  Thanks for a fun ride Chuck!
