Too much talk about tech and safety. The vast majority want that twelfth photo that was never delivered (and, please, make it something that we can't see on FB anyway ) and, thus, based on good hands' initial post, precludes Clarke from PCAP nirvana.

One of you guys, in your younger days, stored his torque wrench in my trailer overnight at the track. I noticed it was set to 90 ... Inch-pounds. I politely informed that he was setting his wheel torque to 1/12 of what it should have been.

We don't normally check lug nut/ bolt torque, although we did have a volunteer a couple times last year. Never seen a torque wrench that goes to above 100 ft-lbs have a scale that would read as low as 90 in-lbs though. Plus 90 is not a normal setting; usually 95 or 95 ft-lbs.

One may consider self-tech a perk for those who volunteer to instruct.

Again no Self Tech for dogs sake!!! Volunteers get that warm and fuzzy from just helping people learn or improve a skill

But I did volunteer to instruct at PCAP - twice now. Oh well.

No matter, I have been asked by other groups to instruct.

Most other tech lines I go to they check torque - but only for 5-lug. No one ever has checked the centerlocks at any tech I have ever been to.

Of course, torquing too high was the problem I had and even tech wouldn't have caught that had they checked anyway.

I would like to volunteer more time at DE events but I spend a lot of my time keeping the car(s) ready for two people - me and Sly. I also need/want to be there when Sly is strapping in, checking her belts, tire pressure, etc. and then paying attention and being available exclusively for Sly and her car before/during/after her sessions. At the few events a year that I go to when Sly is not driving I do volunteer, usually at pit road.

We do spot checks on lug nuts. Lack of help is the usual reason we don't at grid tech. However we do check the locks on center lock wheels (that's why the center covers have to be removed in the tech line).

I wish I had a man like you, Clarke. Oh, wait, I DO. Though the only bikini pictures he has of me are from when I was 7.
