A few more details are out on the Austin F1 site. Tavo did an interview with Dave Despain. 20+ turns, 3.2 miles, and 150 ft of elevation changes.

Didn't know that he [and his father] were close to Bernie, which explains a few things ans maybe also puts them in a stronger postion than many of the F1 facilities. I doubt that Bernie would pull something liek his Donnington Park move on these guys.

Have to agree that Austin makes more sense as a location than was immediately obvious, and no doubt the city & state government support was critical. Thsi will be fun to watch. Might get to see a stable USGP in the calendar at last!
